Mesh swimming pool covers, unlike rolling pool covers, are a cheap solution to preventing large debris from entering a swimming pool. There are several downsides to using these types of covers, however, which should be a factor in whether or not you purchase one for your swimming pool.
First, mesh swimming pool covers do not prevent all debris from entering the pool. Dirt, small twigs and other objects can pass through the mesh and enter the water. While large leaves and sticks will not fall into the pool, you will still need to net out the pool before use as well as make certain there are debris baskets for pool pumps present so the pumps do not burn out due to having dirt and other debris entering the pump.
Despite this, mesh swimming pool covers can lower the amount of work required to keep a pool clean. As the large debris does not enter the pool, the debris baskets for pool pumps and a low amount of netting can eliminate almost everything floating in the pool. This makes these covers highly desired by those who want a cheap alternative, while still willing to do some work to keep the pool clean.
If you do purchase one of these covers, you will need to make certain that you are careful to maintain it. In order for the cover to be effective, there cannot be large gaps in the mesh, or large leaves and other debris will fall through it, causing you to have more work. When you have finished using it, you should check for any tears or rips in the mesh, and repair them, should you find any. With the proper care, however, these covers can help eliminate a lot of work while being affordable for most pool owners.
